Day 89/252 Books 1,2,3 John

Today I woke up blissfully!

I actually relaxed for half of today then read the next 3 books and did my weekend work duties.

Sooooo tired. At least I'm sleeping better. Thank you God for answering many prayers.

Day 88/252 Brain fried.

Today I did 21 charts, I've never pushed myself so hard.

I found somewhere to hide away otherwise I don't know how I would have done it.

I began at 7:30am and finished at 11:30pm, with a few short breaks!

Sheila said I could sleep in her room because she was away so I hid myself away with a big bed and tv and it was wonderful. I felt like I was on holiday. Lush.

Day 87/252 This is all...

Day 86/252 Hope is real.

What is dying...

A family member died today. She was old and very poorly.
I'm glad she's not in pain now.
It's just reminded me of the finality of death. I pondered that quite a long time today.

But then hope hit me square in the face.
Because, I will see her again.

It is bitter sweet.

I've had a large headache with my Horizontal today. It's a struggle when I really want to just look into the text and interpret but what I have to do first is section off everything. If I get stuck at this point I'm realising I turn into something resembling a monster.

Day 85/252 The Bible Comes Alive

Julian's lectures are like story time with a favourite uncle.

'It is interesting to note the average life expectancy was 30 years old! This would have been a very difficult place to live well and thrive in. It was an arid place, very infertile, there would have been lots of diseases, poor water supply a very hard life. They had oppressive rulers, the Roman government overtaxed them and took advantage of them. They are described mostly as ‘the crowds’ as in 6:22, they are compared to ‘sheep without a shepherd’ in Matthew 9:36, these were the ordinary people and these were the culture of the times Jesus was in.'

This is the kind of bits of history that make the Bible come alive!

Day 84/252 The Interesting Irony...

Still exhausted but had some cool moments in class today.... (Julian is here woohoo!)

One Ironic moment in John (there are many!)

'The Jews are purifying themselves to celebrate the Passover, while concurrently plotting to kill their Messiah (11:55-57). They also were trying to remain ritually undefiled while attempting to destroy their Messiah, when they refuse to enter the house of the Gentile Pontius Pilate (18:28)' www.julianspriggs.com

Good grief!

Day 83/252 Term 2 Begins - Hello John! Book #22

Today we began Term 2 and the Gospel of John.

Wow I really like this one.

I love John's repetition, emphasis and detail he uses, so different to the other Gospels! Can't wait for lectures and to get charting. Oh and I will have the chance.... this one we chart ALL the chapters. *Blank stare*

Today was rough, personally, I have not 'landed' yet and with a disturbed sleep last night I am not quite firing on all cylinders.... in fact I don't even know where my cylinders are *shifts to look* ...and if they are even there they are defiantly not functioning at all at present.

As you can tell, I'm pretty tired.

I miss my family and want to be with them, and want the dreams that I had over Christmas. Let's see what comes of all that.

On a plus note - got loads of compliments about my hair, and they seems genuine. Nicely done people.
