Day 4/252. Wax on, wax off.

Today was non stop, it looked a bit like this...
6am start, shower, get dressed, breakfast, quiet time, worship, tea break, lectures, lunch, lunch wash up, fire and health and safety, nap, dinner, lectures, bed 10pm
Phew!
I learnt lots of amazing things today in class but the main thing that stuck with me is the karate kid reference.
He painted fences, he waxed cars and all the time all he really wanted to do was learn to fight. But soon he realised that all the seemingly pointless tasks were actually building his muscles and teaching him things he didn't even know he needed.
I like that analogy.
Now, to sleep.

Day 3/252. Rooted and established in love.

Church this morning, powerful service in Life church, love that place! Was good to be back and bring new trainees to the family too!
Getting used to having all my meals cooked for me, kind of a strange experience. Great food though.
Georgie and I went for a walk and sat in a sunny field for hours, I love that girl. I think I got sun burnt on my face.. And this is end of September. Crazy.
First lecture this evening, very cool. Loads of history and big picture of what the Bible actually is and what it's made up of. Really interesting and because most of it I didn't know already my brain already feels quite full, or so I think.
Excited for more to come. Nice to finally be in the classroom after thinking about it for so long!
I switched of after 9pm I would say because my brain was full but I think mainly it's because I was anxious to get to downton abbey!
Andy asked us to write on a piece of card why we are here, and even though there is a lot I could write the only thing that made any sense in summary is... I want to be rooted and established in love.

Day 2/252. Nuneaton, it is what it is.

Today I got shown around Nuneaton and had an orientation of The King's Lodge. Even though I've lived here for a while now it was good to be with my fellow trainees.
Someone was asked today if he liked Nuneaton and he replied, "it is what it is".
Couldn't agree more.
On another note, getting over the culture shock a bit more everyday... I have amazing people around me which helps!
Had such a good chat with Vicky today and she showed me her teaching on Galatians, so great!

Day 1/252. Here we go!

Andy did a cracking talk tonight encouraging us at the start of an adventure with God and his word.
He shared this passage which got me so excited for what God has in store...
'I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you. The riches of his glorious inheritance. His holy people.' Ephesians 1:18
My roommates are from Finland, the Netherlands and south Korea and they are just lovely.
I haven't stopped since I arrived on Wednesday finishing off my staff role but now I can finally breathe, I can smile and look ahead.
TKL is an amazing place to be, I remembered that again tonight. The family atmosphere in worship tonight was incredible. I cried because I'm so blessed God chose me to be even a small part of this community of people who love God so much.
